​What is Chiengora Yarn? Hand-spun, custom made yarn brushed from your fur babies. It is a yarn or wool spun from dog hair. The word is a portmanteau (word sandwich) of "chien", the French word for dog, and "angora." It is up to 80% warmer than wool and but is not elastic. Often chiengora can be combined with other fibers,; wool, alpaca, silks, bamboo during the carding process. This blend creates a yarn with increased elasticity, preferable when knitting or crocheting.
Creating these yarns is such an amazing way to incorporate the love you have for your dog into a one of a kind keepsake.
